Reputatable Jeweler in Orange County. What to look for.

by Norman on 11/23/13

Dollar for dollar, the best value can be found at a local independent jeweler. You will get the value of their experience and knowledge firsthand. The best jewelers are ones who are committed to their community and customers.  The jewelry industry is a very challenging industry, it is dominated by big corporate companies that have large markup percentages. If you truly want the best quality and value for your money we recommend going to an independant jeweler rather than any corporate owned big chain jewelry store. Being in the industry my whole life I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best in the industry and also some of the worst. What I've come to realize is that those who succeed in this industry must remain consistent in providing the best quality and customer service for their clients. Building a customer base of happy customers is what we strive for. Customers continue to shop with us for one reason, we care about our customers!

A good jeweler will ask many important questions to their client and really listen to what you’re looking for. Educating the customer regarding jewelry is an important factor I strong believe. The customer needs to know all of their options regarding their future purchase and what makes what they are buying worth the money.

Buying jewelry to me is all about building relationship with the customers. If you visit a jewelry store and feel rushed or the salesperson is too pushy this NOT what you are looking for, MOVE ON. You should be able to think things over and take your time making a decision in buying jewelry. You need to see the value in what you are purchasing and listen to your gut instinct. There are lots of great jewelers out there in Orange County and Southern California.

I recommed to everyone to make sure the jewelry store you are visiting has a bench jeweler on staff. This is the person who can do all repairs on your jewelry while you wait and infront of you. Don't allow your jewelry to be sent out for repairs as this usually means the company will be using a 3rd party jeweler. An experienced jeweler will be someone who can recommend what you need repaired and be able to do it himself, not simply hand it over to someone else.

If you need any jewelry advice regarding purchasing, selling or custom design please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to help.
